Terms of Service

What this website is, what SAPN is and is not, the terms for funding trees, and the terms on which you use all of it.

Last updated: 3 October 2026

01Who these terms are between

This website at sapling.network is published by the founder of Sapling Network, Efe Kaan Açıkyıldız, named in Section 15 of the whitepaper. By using the site you accept these terms.

There is no company yet. A dedicated legal entity will be established before the token sale to hold the treasury and act as counterparty for partner and exchange agreements (Section 16). Until it is registered, the project operates as a named founder team, and these terms are given on that basis. Once the entity exists, its name, jurisdiction and registration number will be published here and in the whitepaper, and these terms will be reissued in its name.

02What this website is, and is not

This site is informational. It describes a project, its token design, and its planting programme.

  • It is not an offer to sell, or a solicitation to buy, any token, security or financial instrument.
  • It is not a prospectus and has not been reviewed or approved by any regulator.
  • It does not constitute investment, legal, accounting or tax advice, and must not be relied on as such. If you need advice, get it from someone licensed to give it in your jurisdiction.

No token sale is open at the time of writing. If and when one opens, it will run under its own terms, published separately, at the venue that hosts it.

The one thing you can buy through this site and the Sapling Network app is the planting of trees, under the terms in Tree funding below.

03The SAPN token

SAPN is designed and offered as a utility token. Its mint address is 8hrr2aSkj4fCK57zuPn8BbCL2mqehENzbNvrSRSnBTSU; mint and freeze authority are permanently revoked, which anyone can verify on-chain.

SAPN does not represent equity, shares, debt, a profit-sharing right, or any claim on the assets or revenues of the founding team or any entity associated with the project. Holding it grants no ownership and no entitlement to distributions.

Staking and planting reward rates published on this site and in the whitepaper are caps calculated from a fixed emission pool. They fall as participation grows and as emission decays. They are not promised or guaranteed yield. See Risk Disclosure.

04Eligibility and restricted jurisdictions

You may not use this site, or participate in any future sale or staking product, if doing so would breach the law where you live.

The token sale and staking products are not offered to residents of jurisdictions where such offerings are restricted or require a registration the project does not hold — including, without limitation, the United States (to US Persons as defined under Regulation S), and any jurisdiction subject to comprehensive international sanctions.

Sale participants complete KYC/AML screening through the sale venue, and sanctioned-address screening is applied to participation. You are responsible for complying with the laws of your own jurisdiction, including tax.

05Tree funding

On the Plant page and in the Sapling Network app you can pay for trees to be planted. This section is the contract for that purchase. It is shown before you pay, you accept it by ticking an empty box, and the version you accept — the date at the top of this page — is written into the memo of your payment on chain, where it cannot be changed afterwards.

What you buy

  • A service: the planting of the number of trees you choose, by Sapling Network or a planting partner, recorded in a public batch record. It is not a donation and not an investment: you are paying for planting.
  • Planting rewards are separate and not promised. Certificates may earn SAPN under the planting-reward programme in Section 9 of the whitepaper. Those rewards come from a fixed emission pool, are capped, fall as participation grows, can be zero, and are not offered where the law restricts them (see Eligibility and the Risk Disclosure). The price you pay is for the planting alone.
  • A certificate per tree, issued to the wallet that paid, once the planting is evidenced (Section 9 of the whitepaper).
  • We make no carbon-offset or climate-neutrality claim for your trees (Section 16). What is published is what can be checked: how many trees were planted, where to about a kilometre, and how many survive.

Price and payment

  • The price per tree is the one published on this site when you pay. The total is shown before payment, and your wallet shows it again before anything is sent.
  • Payment is a single USDC transfer from your own wallet to the Sapling Network treasury. Its memo records the number of trees, the unit price and the version of these terms. Your wallet pays the network fee.
  • Test phase. Purchases currently run on Solana devnet with test USDC, which has no value. No real payment is taken until the seller below exists, and the payment method for real purchases is set out under Who may buy.

Delivery

Payments are pooled. An order is allocated to a planting — with a planting partner or at one of our own events — only after its 14-day cancellation period has ended, so a cancellation never touches a tree already bought. Trees are then planted in the next suitable planting season for their species and site, normally within twelve months of payment. Until then your order counts as funded, not planted, and the public tree counter does not include it. When the planting is evidenced, your certificates are issued and the batch record shows the site, to about a kilometre, and the date. Survival is then checked and published for three years.

Cancellation and refunds

  • You may cancel within 14 days of paying, without giving a reason, and receive a full refund in the currency and by the means you paid (to the wallet that paid, or to the card). Nothing is deducted. Because your money is not allocated to a planting until this period ends, a cancellation is always possible in full.
  • If your trees have not been planted within eighteen months of payment, you choose: planting at another site, or a full refund.
  • To cancel or to claim, write to info@sapling.network with the transaction signature. Refunds are sent within 14 days of your request.
  • These rights are in addition to any mandatory consumer right you hold under the law of your country.

Who may buy

  • You must be 18 or older.
  • Real purchases will use only payment methods that are lawful both where the seller is established and where you live. The seller will be a company established in the European Union (Estonia), and real purchases are planned to be paid by card or in stablecoin. Paying in crypto assets will not be offered to residents of countries that prohibit their use for payments, Turkey among them; those buyers may pay by card.
  • Purchases are not offered to persons, or from wallets, subject to international sanctions.

Seller

Real purchases open only once the legal entity described in Section 1 is registered. Its name, address and registration details will be stated here, and on the purchase screen, before the first real payment is accepted.

06Field contributions

At a planting event you can record a planting with the Sapling Network app: photographs, positions and a session code, sealed and signed with your wallet. By sending a package to the Sapling Network desk you agree to the following.

  • You are 18 or older. Younger participants take part in an adult's session and are not recorded as capturers.
  • What you send is true: the trees in it were planted at that event, at that time, as recorded. A knowingly false package is rejected, and the wallet that signed it may be excluded from events.
  • You do not photograph people without their permission. Photographs showing a person are not published.
  • You allow Sapling Network to publish, free of charge and without time limit, the batch record and the photographs chosen from your package, for the purpose of evidencing the planting. Published photographs have their hidden metadata removed; the position of a single tree is never published.
  • Recording is voluntary and unpaid unless an event states otherwise. Accepted packages count on the field leaderboard.

What the app records, why, and how long it is kept is set out in the Privacy Policy.

07Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • copy, mirror or republish this site in a way that presents it as an official Sapling Network channel;
  • use the project's name, logo or token address to solicit funds, run a giveaway, or impersonate the team;
  • attempt to disrupt the site or the services it reads from, including automated request flooding;
  • use the site for anything unlawful.

Scam warning. The team will never DM you first, never ask for your seed phrase, and never run a token giveaway. Official channels are listed in Section 20 of the whitepaper. Verify the mint address before any transaction: 8hrr2aSkj4fCK57zuPn8BbCL2mqehENzbNvrSRSnBTSU.

08Third-party links and services

This site links to third-party services — block explorers, wallets, and exchanges — and reads public chain data through a third-party RPC provider. We do not control them, do not endorse their terms, and are not responsible for their content, availability or conduct.

On-chain data displayed on the transparency page is read live from the Solana blockchain. We present it as returned. Chain data can be delayed, and providers can fail; when in doubt, verify directly on a block explorer.

09Forward-looking statements

The roadmap, impact targets, cost curves and emission schedules published here and in the whitepaper are plans and honest estimates, not commitments of outcome. They depend on funding, partners, technology and regulation that are not yet in place.

Our stated policy is that an under-funded phase shifts in time rather than being quietly reduced — but shifting in time is itself a real risk to participants. Material changes are announced on official channels.

10No warranty

The site is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or current at every moment. We correct errors when we find them, and we publish corrections rather than quietly overwriting them.

11Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the founding team is not liable for loss arising from your use of this site or your decisions about digital assets — including loss of funds, loss of profits, or losses caused by third-party services, network failures, or your own key management.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud.

12Governing law

Governing law and the forum for disputes will be set when the legal entity described in Section 1 is registered, and stated here at that point. Naming a jurisdiction with no entity behind it would mean nothing.

Until then, nothing here restricts any mandatory consumer-protection right you hold under the law of your own country of residence.

13Changes to these terms

These terms may change as the project develops — most obviously when the legal entity is registered. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version, and material changes are announced on official channels.

14Contact

Write to info@sapling.network, or reach the project at @Sapling_Network on X. Additional channels are announced in Section 20 of the whitepaper as they open. Any channel not listed there is not ours.
